starting out in 1996 in karl-marx-stadt under the moniker “Wintermute” he began producing, spinning & performing experimental electronical music (AFX, Autechre, Squarepusher, µZiq…). Wintermute released his first 12″ on kool.POP records (Berlin) with Geroyche in 1998. The release was entitled Ripple and The Ant”letzte Zuflucht” and contained “dark, Hektagon - fucked up broken bastards with melodic hearts of pure, but sad, sugar.” (review from c8.com) One year later Wintermute shifted his taste of music from electro to hiphop. The cataclysmic event came through listening to a turntablist mixtape from the legendary Invisible Scratch Piklz. that was the night everything changed. soon after demolishing a cheap noname mixer he picked up two 1210..s and a vestax mixer. a new chapter begun. the name motorv8a came up during a bbq (only after consuming huge quantities of (u know …) Motov8a’s homebase was the renowned Voxxx Chemnitz where he created his very own special oldskool, hiphop, rap turntablism style. He established his own hiphop community with the famous Hustler’s Club party series which lasted over 4 years. today he is a well known hiphop and dubstep deejay with the attitude not to play commercial mainstream shit. Motov8a has released several mixtapes with freestyles from artist all around the world. As support act he has established a strong reputation. since 2k7 he starts spinning dubstep.
